Program Summary
The ONLINE Nursing Assistant Training Program at Grace Global Institutes, Carson, California is a total 23-day program. Theory instruction is front-loaded and consists of the 17 CDPH-required modules completed in 9 days during weeks 1and 2. The theory time is 8am-5pm (8 hours) Mondays to Fridays.
Clinical instruction will be in person at our affiliated clinical site, Pacific Care Nursing Center, in Long Beach, CA 90806. The clinical time is 6am-4pm (9 hours), Mondays to Fridays during weeks 3-5, supervised by an approved, licensed, and experienced Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
The school uses the google classroom as the Learning Management System (LMS) for daily school activities. The student requires a Mac or Windows computer with stable internet and Zoom capabilities to do classwork. All students will be given access to google classroom upon enrollment. How to use the google classroom will be demonstrated during the orientation.
Students must complete a minimum of 60 theory hours and 100 hours of clinical training and successfully complete the state testing approved by California Department of Health and Human Services. A passing grade of 75% is required to pass the Grace Global Institutes Nursing Assistant Training Program. Two absences may be allowed in the program, one in theory and one in clinical. All absences must be made up on designated days. Clinical Sites located in Long Beach CA.

Technology Requirement
A reliable Computer: Laptop, desktop or tablet with Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher, or Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or higher with virus protection software. All antivirus software must be up to date. Turn off all pop-up blockers.

Internet Access- preferably high speed (for accessing google classroom, email, internet, etc).
Computer system must be able to download and access Zoom (download from www.zoom.us/download), and google classroom platforms.
Laptop or desktop with internal or external Web camera and microphone (for virtual meetings)
If you do not have a webcam, you can install Zoom on your phone and use your phone’s webcam.

Grading criteria
A:90-100
B: 80-89
C: 75-79
D: 65-74
F: Below 64
Any final grades below a 75% (C) must be repeated. Any student scoring a D or F in any course must re-register and retake the course to ensure successful completion of the program.

Course Description
This course of study provides instruction on utilizing a humanistic approach to provide basic care to people in a variety of health care settings. Students will understand how health care systems operate and will learn the skills necessary to function safely and efficiently in a health care setting. Students will learn the information and practical skills necessary for taking and passing the certification examination required by the state.

Nursing Assistant Training Program Schedules
The Grace Global Institute's Nursing Assistant Training Program is a 5 week, 23-day program with online theory and in-person Clinicals, scheduled for Mondays to Fridays for 5 weeks. Clinical days of the week may vary, depending on clinical facility availability. Total program hours is 160 hours including 60 hours of theory and 100 hours of clinicals. Additional hours will be needed by students for private study and testing.
Theory (60 hours): Online Synchronous via zoom using the google classroom as the learning management system. Days are Mondays- Fridays for Weeks 1-2, 8.00am – 5.00pm (8 hours).
Clinicals (100 hours): In-person at approved, affiliated clinical facilities on Mondays- Fridays for Weeks 3-5, 6.00am – 4.00pm (9 hours).

Absence and make-up policy
Allowed absences and make up
Up to two absences may be allowed in the program. Only one absence is allowed in theory, and it must be made up on assigned make up day 9. If the student does not make up theory absence, that student would not be able to commence clinicals. This could lead to a failure of the course.
Only one absence is allowed during clinical, and it must be made up on assigned make up day 22. If the student does not make up clinical absence, that student cannot participate in the course final examination scheduled on day 23. This will lead to a failure of the Nursing Assistant course. A student needing to repeat the NA course must pay to register for another session.
Students must notify instructor and/or the RN Program Director (Dean of Nursing Education) prior to any absence or excessive tardiness, and to request a make-up day by calling 424-533-3835 or email: Dean@graceglobalinstitutes.org.
Excused or Unexcused Absence
Excused absence: Student must notify the NA instructor and/or RN Program Director (Dean of Nursing Education) of the reason before any absence and is granted permission to be absent. Any absence must be made up on scheduled make up days for theory or clinical with instructor and RNPD's approval.
Unexcused absence is when a student misses a theory or clinical session without prior notification to the instructor or RN Program Director/Dean of Nursing Education, unless in extreme emergency. Any absence must be made up on scheduled make up days for theory or clinical with instructor and RNPD's approval.
Tardiness is not acceptable. Tardiness is lateness greater than 15 minutes each occurrence. Two late occurrences will equal an absence. More than two absences (one in theory and one in clinical), could lead to dismissal.
